The church closed its doors for good on December 27, 1992 after 90 years of serving the community. Now abandoned for almost 27 years.

The “bridge to nowhere” formerly resided in the Mentor Lagoons Marina, and was built during the 1920s.

Founded inside a house in 1892, their goal was to treat children who required immediate surgery, since the nearest hospital at that time was in Cleveland.

Shea’s Theater is a former movie theater in Downtown Ashtabula, Ohio. The theater was opened in 1949, and was built in an architectural style known as “Streamline Moderne.” Shea’s holds some historical significance with its architecture, being one of the last of its kind.

Spanning 13 miles, a former Pennsylvania turnpike now sits abandoned. Pavement cracks and crumbles as overgrowth takes over what was once a main route of travel for people wanting to quickly pass through 7 different mountains.

The Victoreen Instrument Company was responsible for providing 95% of the instruments used in the Bikini Atoll atomic tests after World War II. These are the tests that helped shape the story for Bikini Bottom (the bottom of the sea at the Bikini Atoll test site)

Only a few years after the opening of this new bridge, it had become the site of a string of murders, known as the Cleveland Torso Murders.

Unfortunately, just hours ago, the famous historic Packard Plant bridge crossing over E Grand Blvd collapsed.

Immediately upon letting go of the doorknob, we were greeted by a man holding a gun. Obviously even more shaken now than just a moment before, we walked quickly towards our exit rather than running as to not fall in the dark. We had only flashlights, and I think we collectively felt it would be better to walk quickly, than run and trip over something.

Finally, we had reached a room upstairs with just enough daylight remaining to see. Thousands upon thousands of molds and dishes remained placed along shelves lining the factory floor in all directions. I could hear the rain falling outside the partially open window as I stared across the dusty room.
