The La Salle Theatre in Collinwood, Ohio was built in 1927 and first opened as a movie palace. For years the theatre remained a popular local spot, until a decline in the 1980s.

Shea’s Theater is a former movie theater in Downtown Ashtabula, Ohio. The theater was opened in 1949, and was built in an architectural style known as “Streamline Moderne.” Shea’s holds some historical significance with its architecture, being one of the last of its kind.

In 2002, the Miss USA pageant was held in Gary. During the event, Donald Trump decided to renovate the front of the theater using sheets of plywood to cover the windows. The plywood was painted to depict a false interior, and a marquee was mounted outside the front. The marquee then read “Jackson Five Tonite.” In 2009, after Michael Jackson’s death, plastic signs reading “Jackson Five Forever” were placed on both sides of the marquee.

This Adamesque architectural masterpiece was built during the year of 1917, and finally opened its doors as The Liberty Theatre in 1918; a monumental, ornately brilliant structure designed by Detroit architect C. Howard Crane along with associate architects Stanley & Scheibel, looking out over the streets of Central Youngstown.
