Saving Fairport Harbor West

Over the summer, I was given the opportunity to visit Fairport Harbor West Light House and interview two of the people working to bring the light house back to life.
Both owner Sheila Consaul and painter Phil Van Tilburg have a heart for this light house, and are currently attempting to bring it back through an incredible restoration.
Sheila had commissioned windows to be replaced, which had to be architecturally accurate. Phil began painting, and couldn’t stop. Painting the light house was always something that Phil wanted to do, but the first time the opportunity arose, he was too young. He has now put hours upon hours, days upon days of work into bringing this project to completion, all straight from his own desire to see it shine and share its beauty with the world once more.
